Spectacular Flagstaff Fall Events

Falling Into Flagstaff Spectacular Events

It’s here – fall has come to Flagstaff!  The weather is cooler and my overflowing tomato plants are starting to drop their discolored leaves!  Despite the fact that winter is around the corner, there are spectacular events in Flagstaff this fall!  Here are a few of my favorites:

IMG_0427-21.  To start the fall off right, you won’t want to miss the fall colors that are always a spectacular event in Flagstaff!  They usually appear in full color the last weekend of September through the first two weekends in October!  A Flagstaff favorite place to enjoy the fall colors is Lockett Meadow.  Come to camp or day hike in this beautiful mountain valley below Mount Humphrey Summit that shows off an array of color every fall.

2.  Don’t forget the Scenic Chairlift Sky Ride at the Arizona Snow Bowl.  This ride takes you almost to the top of Mount Agassiz and is open Friday through Monday from now until mid-October.  From the top, some boast that on a clear day they can see all the way to the Grand Canyon as well as Bill William’s Mountain, Fern Mountain and Kendrick Peak.

3.  A tuneful event you won’t want to miss is our 10th annual ‘Pickin’ in the Pines’!  This year ‘Pickin’ is featuring:  Laurie Lewis and the Righthands, Mountain Heart, Ricky Skaggs and Kentucky Thunder, the Infamous Stringdusters and the Steep Canyon Rangers!  Quite the lineup if you ask me!  Be sure and save the date as September 18-20, 2015 for the ‘Pickin’!

4.  Last but not least, we continue to love our First Friday Art Walks that continue through the fall.  For Jerry and I, this is a time for calling old friends and meeting them downtown to enjoy good food, good art and good friendship!  Friday, October 2 would be a great time to experience the fall colors watching the sunset on the fall-colored San Francisco Peaks and enjoying the evening on the square in downtown Flagstaff.  Don’t forget November 6 and December 4 as our other First Fridays as well!

Don’t forget that Team Tait sent you!
