Looking for a great cup of coffee? You are guaranteed to find one at one of Flagstaff’s favorite local spots – Macy’s European Coffee House and Bakery. Don’t bother dressing to impress, this Flagstaff place embraces the “come as you are” concept. The vibe is casual – almost hippy. Barristas are sporting tattoos and dreadlocks, other patrons can be seen wearing their 70’s throwback clothes – and yet you’ll also find local professionals having a business meeting at the table next to yours.
This place gets packed, so be aware that you may have to wait for your order. But it’s so good that it is well worth the wait. There’s a walk-up window up front where you can place your order when things are busy – in the nice months, anyway. Even in the winter, the front counter will be open during peak times. Beyond coffee, Macy’s serves a full breakfast and lunch menu. Everything here is vegan – and they’ve been vegan since before it was trendy. I haven’t tried a lot of the menu choices, but everything I have ordered is sensational. If you’re a local, you already know all about Macy’s. If you’re vacationing in Flagstaff or even just passing through – make Macy’s Coffee one of the places you’ll visit while you’re here. You’ll be glad you did!
