Raining! Yesterday was bright and sunny. Today’s forecast: rain. Tomorrow’s: snow! Such is the fall weather in Flagstaff!
Despite up and down weather changes, Flagstaff continues to host fun fall events this November and December! Forest colors continue to be vibrant as new trees brighten with heightened change and other leaves dim as they die and fade. Time spent in the colors of fall change is an event that my husband and I make time for every year! This year’s foliage is being beautifully displayed, and we encourage you to make an event on your calendar to spend time in nature soon while the color and beauty lasts!
Another event that I want to remind you of is our First Friday Art Walks on November 6 and December 4. Not much will be happening outdoors as in former months, but the fun won’t stop happening indoors! Art galleries and restaurants will exhibit the handiwork of local artists serving free food at some places, playing live music at others and advertising happy hour specials at various food and drink establishments. Rain, snow or sunshine the show must go on for First Friday Art Walks, so don’t miss out on these fun fall events that occur monthly supporting the art and artists of our mountain community.
Every year, I am amazed at how quickly the months of November and December fly off the calendar and I awaken to a New Year without quite realizing what has happened. This year, I hope to slow down and enjoy the fall season before it disappears into winter. I encourage all of us to pause in our busyness, take a deep breath, look deeply for a few moments at our natural surroundings and enjoy each passing moment as if it were our last.
