There's nothing more iconic than a good old fashioned diner. That's what you'll find at Downtown Diner in Flagstaff Arizona.
I took my daughter for a before-school breakfast and we both ordered the classic American staple: eggs, bacon, hashbrowns and toast. The bacon tasted strange, so I didn't eat it. But my daughter didn't mind it and ate all her bacon before even touching the rest of her food.
If you're a true foodie, this isn't the place for you. But if you're just looking for something fast and decent, you've found a good spot.
The coffee was good, which of course is a must for me! Sometimes I think the name of this blog should be Flagstaff Coffee instead of Flagstaff Places! ha!
Inside, it has a retro feel to it without being overly trendy about the whole thing. There are old license plates hung throughout the diner, with black and white ceiling tiles. My daughter and I liked it - it felt like we stepped back in time.
For all the years that I've been calling Flagstaff home, I had never actually dined in the Downtown Diner. Whether it was the diner itself, the beautiful morning, or the awesome company of my teenage daughter - this morning's breakfast was great.
